Scientists just turned spinach into a hearth muscle
Leaves like spinach use veins to transport water and nutrients
Stripped of plant cells, these vegetable arteries can also carry human blood
Growing human tissue requires constant, circulating blood to stay healthy
And the spinach acts just like capillaries for growing tissue
Plants veins could help patients grow healthy tissue over wounds
Unlike organ transplants, plant structure aren't rejected by the body
Soon, spinach could let cardiovascular patients self heal when the heart stops working
