Hi Steemians!

Have you ever wondered why it feels so warm and sweaty when it is about to rain? Did you get curious why the water in the pool gets warmer at night but the sun is already not shining? Why is it when showering with hot water your body gets cold afterwards, but if you shower with cold, you'll get warm?

Let me share to you scientific explanations of these 3 HOT WHYS:

1. WHY is it hot and sweaty when it is about to rain?

The surrounding would have become so hot that some amount of water vaporises in the air itself without falling to the ground. This water vapour contains the heat it absorbed, and when this water vapour combines with the air, the humidity increases. This humidity is what creates the warm feeling.

2. WHY is the water in the pool warmer at night than during the morning?

There are several reasons for the pool to be warmer at night. Two of the reasons are:

Day Heat Warms the Water
Sunshine warms the water starting in the later morning until the late afternoon so that by nightfall, the water is at its highest temperature. This heat not only warms the water but the materials holding the water, including the ground under the water.

Night Air is Cooler
When the evening air cools down from the heat of the sun, the difference between the air temperature and the pool water changes. Sometime, the air temperature will drop even lower than the pool water. Since the pool water temperature will not change that much within one or two hours, the cooler air makes the water feel warmer than it was previously.

3. WHY is it when showering with hot water your body gets cold afterwards, but if you shower with cold, you'll get warm?

When you shower with hot water, your body's temperature starts to increase. Upon stepping out of the shower to your room at ambient temperature, your body heat dissipates. With this you will feel colder.

Same when you have cold shower, body temperature drop lower than your room temperature. So when you step out of the shower, you become warmer.

I noticed this before rain starts pouring. My rooms gets hot and I turn the fan on and my mother thinks I'm nuts for turning on the fan when it's about to rain. I'll have to show this to her.
