The Scientific Power of YOUR Thoughts

For years scientist believed that the brain was static, unchanging and locked BUT our understanding has changed drastically nowadays, to the point where we now see the brain as plastic and constantly changing.

What if I told you that simply thinking could affect not only the way your brain work but its phisicall shape and structure as well, it turns out this is exactly what happens.

From a neuro-scientific standpoint imagining and action requires the same mottor and sensory programs in the brain.

For example if you were to close your eyes and imagine the letter "B", the "Primary Visual Cortex" lights up in the same way does when you look at the letter at the screen. Take a moment and imagine yourself writing up your signature with your dominant hand, chances are the amount of time it takes you to simply imagine doing it its simillar to how long it actually takes you writed out. Try out the same thing with your non-dominant hand and it actually takes you long to write and imagine.

Researchers have found that IMAGINATION and ACTION are integrated in the brain and engage the same neural path ways, practicing one actually influences the other. One fascinating study took two groups and had them to practice piano for two hours a day except one group was only allowed to a mental practice (they couldn't touch the piano). the surprising result?: The exact same phisicall changes took place in the motor cortex of both groups. And after 3 days their accuracy in playing was the exact same, beyond five days the phisicall practice group did begin to excell fasting but the imagination group when giving the chance to practice phisically was able to catch up to their skill level quickly.

Perhaps more incredible is an experiment in an effort to strenghten muscles, both groups did the same figure muscles exercises for 4 weeks, but one group simply did it mentally, those who actually did the phisical exercise increased their strengh by 30% BUT those who imagined doing it increased their muscle streght by 22%, this is because the neurons responsible for the movement instruction were still being used and strengthened, resulting in a increased strength, yes... the muscles actually contracted.

Dr. Barbara Fredrickson is a psychology researcher at the UNC (University of North Carolina) and she published last year papers that provides surprising insights about positive thinking and it's impact on your skills. Her work is among the most referenced and cited in her field and it is surprisingly useful for us in our everyday life.

So, mental practice and visualization is an effective way to prepare for a phisicall skill, each thought actually changes the structure and function of your brain by affecting the neurons at the microscopic level. It really is as simple as Henry Ford said: “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”

So what's your next goal?, boost your health? to become a cryptocurrency millionaire?, a great steemer?, to lose weight?, to climb the everest?, have a family?, build muscles?, learn chinese? to understand the Bible?... Though as much as we wish you could sit there and become the next mozart it won't happen without a lot of phisical work but a little imagination will help.

I've been doing business venture and entrepreneur-ing for almost 8 years and visualization works. Lots of people don't believe it or practice it, but you gotta see all the people with results explain the same all the time over and over how visualization changed their lives.
