Why are all fire trucks red??
Have you ever noticed that all fire trucks are paints red. And the very first question which arises in my mind is why?
Why aren't the fire trucks painted black or green or blue. Well, there is a science behind that.
Back in 1990's when the roads were filled with black -colored Ford cars. So With so many black cars on the road, the striking red colour of the fire truck stood out among the black cars. We associate certain colors with certain objects. Red resembles danger.
Red colour has the longest wavelength amongst all color in the visible spectrum, which means it can be spotted from a long distance. This is the same reason why the "STOP" sign is usually painted red. So whenever we see a red vehicle with flashing light and wailing siren we move aside and give it a way.
