What is Fidget Spinner.

Fidget Spinner were originally intended to help fidgeters or a person having trouble in focusing. It is usually made of plastic or steel. At the center are two rings that form two concentric circle. Between them are ball bearings on which the outer ring rolls. The ball bearings reduces the friction between the two rings and allows the spinner to rotate for longer time. Three equally sized weight is placed on each edges of the spinner as this creates a turning effect which will further increase the speed of the spinner.

How does it spin.

If you want to make the spinner spin you have to apply some amount of force. In this case it is called Torque. Torque is directly proportional to the magnitude of the force applied, and how much of the force is perpendicular to the arm of the Spinner. So in order to make the Spinner spin fast you have to hit the Spinner hard on it's arm.

Why does it stops.

It stops mainly due to friction. The ball bearings aren't frictionless so it oppose the motion and slows the Spinner which eventually stops. Air resistance is also another factor behind the slowing down of the Spinner.

How long would a fidget spinner rotate in space.

If an astronaut spin the fidget spinner on its axis, it would probably spin for a bit longer compared to Earth. But even so, eventually the spinner would stop because of friction.
But if somehow we manage to make the Spinner completely frictionless and remove all other factors which may slow down the Spinner it may spin forever, i guess.
