Going from the discovery of finding out that this moss can remove lead to the point where it can be used by the industrial sites who contaminate with lead can take many years at best, and might not even be viable at all. I have no idea how difficult it would be to figure out the mechanism behind the lead removal and get it to an operational device, but it could probably be very complex.
