Yet further preview.

Regarding onboarding. (Posted this in SteemDevs actually. May as well post here as well.)

How to prevent spammer/scammer accounts from signing up to a chain that requires tokens to use and therefore accounts are subsidized?

Say onboard to Steem without the delay. Basically, one subsidized invite link, instant account, for every post you make with say > 250 upvotes. Something like that. No other way to join but follow an invite link.

Invite links expire in X number of hours. Once somebody signs up, you much vouch for that individual. You get some tokens too, but these cannot be claimed until the end of the month. Meanwhile the account invited must make a post with > Y upvotes within say three weeks. Durations and other parameters can be balanced. If they don't they are kicked off. Accounts older than three weeks cannot be kicked off. If the account is kicked off, the reserved reward for inviting is not granted and cannot be claimed by the inviting account at the end of the month.

A system like that. This is better than waiting weeks for a permanent account, no invite link, general signup, where information must be manually checked. The delay causes the mainstream users to lose all interest. Even if they get an account weeks later, they likely don't use it. Interest is fleeting.
