Singapore is the first city in the world where drones will massively patrol the streets

Recently, city parks in Singapore have been patrolled by the famous robo-dogs from Boston Dynamics.

The devices are checking that residents are wearing face masks and complying with the new safety rules introduced by the government in connection with the CoVID-19 pandemic. Now the Singapore Civil Defense Force and the Garuda Robotics consortium intend to go a step further.

They not only intend to create an airspace surveillance system for drones, but also want to use the benefits of the technology of small, manned flying machines in order to provide better health care to the inhabitants of the city-state and increase the level of safety on the streets. The drones will therefore act as flying medics and

law enforcement officers in one.

For example, if there is a car accident involving the injured, and there is a need for prompt and effective medical assistance, the machine will be the first to arrive, assess the situation and provide basic assistance, and then report back to the scene of the accident.

It will be similar in the event of crisis situations, such as street demonstrations, a terrorist attack or natural disasters.

The drone will then be able to deliver important data to the police operations center or anti-crisis services and allow them to get under control of the situation faster. The government does not exclude the use of armed drones in the future, if the program turns out to be a bull's eye.
