Hepatitis B is said to be one of the chronic disease ever known, being a disease that is more deadlier than HIV.

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by a virus (Hepatitis b virus) that affect the liver. It can also be called disease of the liver. Hepatitis B can lead to acute lasting infection.

The liver is one of the vital organs in the body that helps to metabolizes drugs, making drugs useful in our body and also to remove chemicals and a lot of other function. The liver perform over 50 functions in the body. Hepatitis B tends to destroy the liver and stop the useful functions of the liver, the human body operates a mutual relationship, therefore if one organ in the body is affected, the body might be down.

Most people thinks HIV is the worst disease ever but hepatitis B is even more worse than HIV. Over 2 millions people are living with this deadly disease and like HIV ,it has no cure. Men,woman, children not excluding babies can be infected with this deadly disease. Being ignorant of some deadly disease is one of the reason people fall victim to them because its not possible to avoid what is not known, but when one is aware of something and the effects it has, one can avoid getting it.

Hepatitis B is also a life threatening infection and once a person is infected with it, it can lead to acute infections which can lead to death and other complications.

WAYS OF CONTRACTING THIS DEADLY DISEASE

1.Hepatitis B is one of the easiest disease that can be contracted, Why? This is because unlike most disease (with exception to HIV) that can be contracted through sexual intercourse. Hepatitis B can be contracted through body fluids. Other ways though which you can contract hepatitis b include:

  • Semen
  • Vagina fluid

Sometimes when one has this hepatitis B, if it has not gotten to the acute stage, the body immune system like the white blood cells fight over it and over time, the symptoms goes.

HEALTHY CARRIER

A healthy carrier is someone who is infected with a disease but show no signs and symptoms but can still transmit the infection to another person. In most cases an hepatitis B carrier wont show any symptoms, the carrrier might look healthy and fine but still have the virus in the body even though they dont show any symptoms, they can as well transmit the virus, so sometimes its hard to tell who has the virus since the symptoms is not visible.

So an infected person might harbour this hepatitis B virus for years without showing any symptoms, but even as the infected person is not showing any symptoms, he still can transmit the virus, the more reason why people needs to be careful. Some people are healthy carriers meaning they have infections but might not show any symptoms.

SYMPTOMS OF HEPATITIS B

  1. Abdominal pain
  2. Fever
  3. Yellowing of the eyes
  4. Inflamtion of the liver

TEST FOR HEPATITIS B

Hepatitis B can be tested for by doing a blood test at the hospital or clinic.
