This picture was taken during mission STS-96. The STS-96 was a normal logistics and supply mission, well except for the fact that is was the first flight to dock to the International Space Station. This shuttle carried multiple different experiments and satellites into space. [1]

The experiments included the The Shuttle Vibration Forces (SVF) Experiment . This experiment measured the vibrational forces between the mounting structures and the aerospace payloads. This allowed us to keep supplies more secure, which allows us to bring more interesting stuff into space. [2]
