Capacity to decrease in design change......!!!!!
In order to establish second submarine cable transmission link, the original design was changed to Sirajganj instead of Faridpur and brought to Dhaka. Because of this vulnerability, only 140 GBps bandwidth can be transmitted from BTCL to the second submarine cable link of 1500 gbps capacity. Two private NTTN companies, Fiber-on-Home and Summit Communication Transmission Link, with more than 200 Gbps capability, have been added. As a result, at the moment, the second submarine cable link is not able to transport more than 340 gbps bandwidth. One thousand 160 Gbps is going to be unused. After the launch of the mobile in the country, the bandwidth is dependent on the first submarine cable link and the terrestrial bandwidth from India on the terrestrial cable imported.
It has been found in the preliminary findings that, before the Supreme Court's verdict in a case involving irregularities in tender proceedings for establishing second submarine cable link, BTCL has stated that it has made 'big intention' irregularities. Turkey's company, the leader of the irregularities, was ordered to pay $ 10,000.However, the Turkish companies, after reviewing the Supreme Court's verdict, sought justice without asking for compensation. On February 11 last, the Appellate Division rejected the review petition on the 'past and close' of the Appellate Division. However, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is currently under investigation for irregularities in setting up the link. It is seen in the search, BTCL tried to stop the investigation of the ACC by verifying the verdict and observation of the Supreme Court before the verdict.
Major changes in technical design: It is seen in the search that the original tender was considered suitable for establishing this link. Netashash provided the equipment from the US Siena company. Siena Equipment was also used to establish Dhaka-Cox's Bazar link from the country's first submarine cable to bandwidth transport. However, the first submarine cable link to set up the first tender process was canceled before it was issued. After working for the job of local company Teshis with the help of fraud, work was given to the inexperienced Indian company Tejash to set up transmission equipment. Considering the capabilities of tejash, this link also has a big change in the technical design. Keeping the original and modified design side by side, it is observed that in the work tender of the original tender, there were 9 links according to the current requirement and there were 20 links with 11 links for future needs. In order to create new technical specifications, the demand for future links has been completely excluded from the current 10. And although the current transport power of these 10 links is mentioned, there is no mention of how much to increase in the future. But in the original tender, there was a clear mention of how much the transport power would be in the first design with the current and the future.
In the original tender design, 3 of the 9 links were general, and 6 were very important. The difference between these two was kept. Along with the main link of the common link, an alternative is also kept. The only way to cut the bandwidth is by alternate routes. And if there is only a cut in the main way in the case of the most important links, bandwidth will be transported to another option. If the only option is to cut in alternate ways, then the sophisticated equipment will automatically find a modified path; But in the last 5 years, the number of significant changes in technical designs has been reduced to 5. The difference of the general and most important links has also been changed. Though the general link was earlier, three important options were set to the important link.No other way was followed after the third path. Even the modern 'smart intelligent' network was not designed to be designed in a new technical design. As a consequence, the bandwidth transportation will be stopped if there is any disaster in the first, second and third places.
At the same time, when Padma bridge was built in the original quote, there was an alternative route between Dhaka and Srinagar to prevent uninterrupted connectivity in Dhaka with Kuakata and Benapole. With the new design, it was replaced by Sirajganj to Bogra. The second submarine cable is transmitting 140 gbps bandwidth via this route.
In addition to the original tender, one way bandwidth for the other way needed for cross-connect switch (cross connect switch) was sought for minimum terabyte (one thousand GB). It has been reduced to 640 gigabytes in the new technical design.
Can not use full capability: The total bandwidth capability of the second submarine cable is limited to 1500 GBps. Mashiur Rahman, managing director of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, said that currently 140 CBMPs are being transmitted from BTCL link to second submarine cable. Apart from this, two private NTTN companies have two transmission links with their own capacity of 100 gbps.In all, 340 Gbps is accessible. At the cost of around 610 crore, the second submarine cable has unlimited bandwidth of about 160 160 Gbps.
In search, the maximum power of the BTCL link is 200 GBps. That means if BTCL does not extend the bandwidth of more than 200 Gbps, then the link capacity will not be able to spend money again due to changes in the original design.
According to internet service providers, currently around 510 Gbps bandwidth is being used in the country. And Moshiur Rahman told Samakal that currently the bandwidth is being supplied from the submarine cable to 352 Gbps. Of these, 212 Gbps coming from the first submarine cable. And about 158 GBPs are coming from India through imported ITC companies.
