The Future Colonization of Mars

Our planet is one of a kind in our solar system. We have currently living organisms and water in all three states of matter. We have many natural resources. There is billions of humans here, but is there room for more? Well, within the next 10 years, the human race is going to colonize Mars. One of the newest discovery is they found liquid water on Mars. Now, consider this, the atmosphere of Mars is a lot thinner than the atmosphere of Earth. When a meteor enters Earth’s atmosphere, it burns up and usually is very small when it reaches the surface. If a meteor was to enter the atmosphere of Mars, there would be less heat build up, so the meteor would not burn up as much and strike the surface in large sizes and high speeds. Luckily, chemistry has paid us off. We have developed a new form of carbon, graphene, this is a material that is stronger than diamond, and it is transparent to an extent. The purpose of graphene, is to coat a material with it, this adds reinforced strength and water resistant protection. If you coated a window with graphene, you would have a very difficult time breaking it. It is just like trying to break diamonds.

Before we get to Mars, we must establish a general infrastructure and an easy way to get supplies back and forth. The first step would be to get a satellite in orbit around Mars, then clear a space nearby the colonist landing area to make room for a runway. This would allow the use of a space shuttle for travel between Earth and Mars. The satellite in orbit around Mars could allow a resupply of fuel and even storage of excess material. A small lander could be designed with enough rocket power to get off of the Martian surface, and to dock with the satellite.

Planets are over rated. Hollow out asteroids...spin em up...install an ecology...live in em.
