Sounds like scientific term??
indeed and it is defined as experience characterised by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia.

ASMR videos are meant to give the listener a relaxing feeling . Videos usually involve one or more of the following things:
• Gentle whispering
• Relaxing hand movements
• lips movement
• Nail tapping on hard surfaces
• Brushing sounds

But who started this internet trend & why ASMR Youtube Channels became so famous..?
it all started on 2007 on forum thread under the tilte of werid senstation feels good
okaywhatever, “i get this sensation sometimes. theres no real trigger for it. it just happenes randomly. its been happening since i was a kid and i’m 21 now. some examples of what it seems has caused it to happen before are as a child while watching a puppet show and when i was being read a story to. as a teenager when a classmate did me a favor and when a friend drew on the palm of my hand with markers. sometimes it happens for no reason at all that i can tell, though. i’ll just be sitting or whatever doing whatever and it happens. its like in my head and all over my body. if i get an itch when i’m experiencing the sensation i won’t scratch it cause the itch helps intensify it. i also like to trace my fingers along my skin because it feels good when experiencing the sensation. sometimes my eyes will water. when the sensation is over i will sometimes feel nauseous, but not that bad. just a slight hint of nausea. what is it?? i’m not complaining cause i love it, but i’m just wondering what it might be… help.”
this thread turned into along discussion of therories and science so much that i t drove the attention of reaserchers to do more study on this matter.
one famous paper that i found online https://peerj.com/articles/851.pdf
soon after that many content creator started devoting their channel for ASMR
here are some examples :

My own conclusion:
the sounds have frequency which effects brain waves which effect our neural system and can therefore generate a feeling pleasure or [brain orgasm].

What to do you think ? Did you feel it? Did you get shivers running down your spine and a tingling sensation along your scalp?

Sort:

I don't know about sounds, but having nails drawn down my back and over my scalp... oh yeaaah it can be nearly orgasmic.
