How Do Ants Communicate

in #science9 years ago (edited)

Ants are insects from members of the tribe of formicidae, hymenoptera nation. Despite its relatively small size, the ants are among the strongest animals in the world. Ants are also known as social insects with their colonies and regular nests composed of thousands of ants per colony. Colony members divided into worker ants, male ants, and queen ants.

How does he communicate?

Pheromones are one of the hydrocarbon chemical compounds that have an important role in ant communication systems, ants communicate with other ants in a colony using pheromones.
when the ant finds a food that is too large to carry itself into the nest, it takes out pheromones to ask for help from a friend, and if they have enough, they will take him to the nest. Chemical communication with this pheromone is only one of the communication done by ants. Ants can also communicate by touch or by sound.

Robert Hickling, one of the leading researchers said,
"The ants do not react to human voices and are not affected by it, but if we direct to them the appropriate vibrations, then the ants are affected by it and responds, which means that the ants have their own language and they are entirely human".
