Explores The History Of Aboriginal Tribes
The Aboriginal Australians, also known as Pribumi-Australia, are indigenous to Australia and the surrounding islands, including Tasmania and the Torres Strait islands.
Aborigines have a physical form similar to those of papua. This is because they are descendants of Papuans who ventured into the continent of Australia, sikitar 40,000 years ago. But today in its development, the physical form of the Aboriginal people is currently on average smaller and shorter than the Papuans. Curly hair, but some of the color is reddish or pale brown, while their skin color is dark.
Aboriginal communities are not single social entities, they have different components and segments in subsistence, culture, and language mode.
The origin of the Aboriginal word
In English the word "Aboriginal" means "indigenous peoples". The word aborigin began to be used since the 17th century to refer to the natives of Australia at the time. This title is taken from the Latin ab origine, which means "from the beginning". Aboriginal tribe is intended for people who originally lived in an area or island.
The word Aboriginal itself has the meaning of 'best known'. They have different cultures, heritage, and history from other groups around the world.
Language
These indigenous people speak more than 250 different languages and dialects and are regarded as the world's 20 most endangered languages. The native language of the Australian Aborigines is known to be unrelated to any language in other parts of the world. Currently, there are only less than 200 native Australian languages spoken.
Linguists study the Australian language in two types:
- Pama Nyungan
- Non-Pama Nyungan.
The majority languages consist of a family of related languages, while the nonrelated ones are studied experts as non-Pama Nyungan languages. The language group is believed to be the result of prolonged and intimate contact. A common feature of languages is that they feature an intimate, special way of speaking and are used only in the presence of relatives.
Culture
Aboriginal people live by hunting and fishing. They hunt wild animals like kangaroos, with spears, arrows, and boomerang (typical Aboriginal weapons). In cold climates, kangaroo skin is used as a clothing material. The science of cultivating and breeding is not yet known, hence the group of aboriginal children never wanders far from water sources or rivers.
One of the traditional Aboriginal weapons is the Boomerang. Bomerang is a typical Australian Aboriginal throwing weapon used for hunting. While Throwing Stick-like weapons are also known to be made by other cultures around the world, most people associate boomerang with Australia because of their historical consistency and variety of examples.
The boomerang movement is a combination of translational and rotation similar to helicopter blades. Boomerang is used as a hunting tool by Aboriginal tribes in the past. Since childhood aboriginal tribe trained using a boomerang. Initially they were trained using a boomerang made of wood and then boomerang with a dull pointed metal and trained with sharp edges.
