Here is a wonderful insight to how we perceive and analyze a given set of problems.

Let's play a game!
For the below image can you identify a pattern?

Thus, for example, when we look at the behavior of a particular
natural system, there will be certain features that we notice with our eyes, and certain features, perhaps different, that we can detect by doing various kinds of mathematical or other analysis

At the level of raw data the picture at the top of the facing page,
for example, can be thought of as consisting of many thousands of individual
black and white cells. But with our powers of visual
perception and analysis, we can immediately see that the picture can be summarized just by saying that it consists essentially of an array of repeated black diamond shapes.
