Not for me. The fear of snakes is largely learned and I never really learned to fear them. Once you realize how beneficial they are and the fact that they are largely harmless, it's much easier to handle them. Go to a local museum of zoo to safely touch live animals with no risk. It is a really rewarding experience even if it is scary!
