NASA is already quite a long time studying the so-called "impossible" engine. Spores of scientists and space enthusiasts things do not stop here for 15 years, from the time of the engine by its creator. And the debate really is about - it creates EmDrive traction in closed circuit without exhaust. At first glance, the engine violates the law of conservation of momentum. On the second - the same breaks. But the results of tens (and perhaps already hundreds) tests clearly indicate that the engine is still running.

Agency NASA has decided to take learning into their own hands EmDrive. After a series of tests, including a vacuum, it was found that the engine really works, and thermal convection and there can be no question. Not so long ago the NASA report was publicly available, but it still has not been officially published, and a kind of leakage. Who is the conclusion of experts agency published all the rules on the website Publishing Journal of Propulsion and Power.

As reported previously, the authors of the publication - Harold White, Paul March, James Lawrence, Jerry Vera, Andre Sylvester, David Brady, Paul Bailey, they all work in the  Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center.

The content of the report is about the same as that already available on the network, but in the final version of the document has official conclusion that emdrive, created at NASA, developing a thrust of 1.2 milliNewtons per kilowatt vacuum. The specialists during testing and after trying to find a possible error in the test stand or the engine design, which leads to occurrence of thrust or at least to its fixation. Errors and problems was not found, which suggests that the engine really works. And this despite the fact that the appearance of traction should be "equal in strength backlash."

The engine was tested at NASA on the stand with the installation on the basis of the torsion pendulum.

1.2 milliNewtons per kilowatt - this is a very small figure. On the other hand, is developing a solar sail has less traction: about 3.6 mikronyutona per kilowatt. EmDrive enthusiasts believe that if the engine is equipped also with the fuel cell, that is, hydrogen and oxygen, then it may well be used in outer reality. For example, to install the ISS, which will operate with a minimum amount of fuel as well as reduce the number of maneuvers to disperse the station. This, according to experts, should reduce the burden on the body and support the ISS structure, extending the total period of its operation.

Also, it is believed that EmDrive can be used for space travel, by setting such an engine on ships that fly to the moon, Mars and other objects of the solar system and even beyond.

Information appeared in the late summer of this year that next year may be tested in space work similar engine operating at microwaves with the creation of thrust in a closed circuit without exhaust. It is about Cannae Drive. His experimental model is scheduled to launch into orbit. Test period - six months. That engine will equip the orbiting satellite, which will try to move with the help of electromagnetic thrust.

On orbit, subject to funding and may send a satellite with a miniature portable EmDrive. This engine was developed by German engineer. He began to collect the money, but, unfortunately, the campaign was unsuccessful - funding was not an engineer. Although it is likely that the project will be engaged in any large company, but the probability is not so great.

Clear explanation of why the "impossible" the engine still running, yet. According to NASA's view, there is a possibility that EmDrive traction - quantum nature. So, it is a consequence of the emergence of the "virtual quantum vacuum plasma" particles appear and disappear in the space-time closed-loop. If so, it removed "accusation" in violation of the law of conservation of momentum of the engine, because the system, in fact, is not isolated.

Finnish physicists have proposed an explanation of the work "impossible" engine in June this year. They believe that in EmDrive cavity may appear photon pairs that are in opposition to each other. Such pairs carry the momentum in the direction opposite to the movement of the engine. And the interaction of photons contributes to an electromagnetic wave with zero polarization. The pulse wave is still such transfers.

"The principle of EmDrive can be compared to the principle of a jet engine when the gases moving in one direction, pushing the plane in the opposite direction", - says Arto Annila, a representative of the team of scientists from Finland. "The microwave radiation - is the fuel that goes into the cavity ... and traction in EmDrive produce pairs of photons. When two photons move together but in opposite phase, then this pair of electromagnetic fields have therefore it will not be reflected from metal walls and leaves. "

In general, after the engine NASA confirmed under terrestrial conditions, in order to ensure the possibility of its use in space, it is necessary to conduct appropriate tests on the orbit. And after that it will be possible to plan the use EmDrive in space programs from different countries and companies.
