Excellent post. So many movies and books have speculated on this subject. But actually creating an atmosphere? I think we are very far from that. If we had that sort of technology we could repair earth's atmosphere.
Also I have no idea how humans will survive the trip to Mars just because of the length of the journey in a confined space.
Very true @readingdanvers, we are trying to repair earth as well, with as much amount of education we can impart about pollution and population. And yes the trip to mars will be dangerous for us. Besides the long time in confined space, we also have to deal with the exposure to space radiation which we haven't figured how to block... yet.
