I saw somewhere how to choose a good ripe pineapple but I can't recall what it was. I'm going to have to google next time I see them in the market. This really is a fun topic!

Thanks much! There's so much good stuff to try that is a little exotic and/or that I've never learned about choosing produce. I learned the cantaloupe trick but it starts to get confusing! For some you check the color of the stem, others you give it a little squeeze, some you sniff, and some you thump. It seems like at some point I'll need to learn to dribble some vegetable or fuit like a basket ball while rubbing my stomach and patting my head!
Now you're on to something: Vegetable/fruit sports.. Dribble, spin, dunk, and pick.
