U.S has approved first gene therapy in the nation , a treatment that use a patient's own immune cells to fight childhood lukemia.
The therapy turns a patient's cells into a "living drug " & trains them to recognize & attack the disease.
Marketed as kymriah & made by Novartis , was approved for children and young adults for an aggressive type of lukemia - B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
