Help fight mosquitoes with your cell phone

You can now use your cell phone to help in the world wide fight against mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are still causing more disease, suffering and death than other pest. Infected mosquitoes inject people with Malaria, Zika, Dengue, West Nile Virus and etc. that can be crippling and even deadly to so many people. 19 species of the over 3500 species of mosquito can carry life destroying diseases.
There is now a scientific study at Dr. Prakash lab, at Stanford, to identify what species of mosquitoes are in every area in the world. They can now identify the species from a very short recording of the sound the mosquito makes when it is flying.
The simple way for everyone to help is to record the sound of a mosquito as it flies. You don't even have to chase them around to get the recording.
When you see a mosquito that is resting somewhere, you can turn on your cell phone's voice recorder and move it close to the mosquito. The mosquito will take off quickly. (If you're fast you can also catch the mosquito with your free hand. Be sure to rub your fingers around in your fist before you open your hand so the mosquito doesn't just fly off again.) Now stop the recording. That is enough for a sound sample of the mosquito's wing beat frequency and harmonics, (even if you didn't try to catch it with your free hand.)

They accept wav (preferred), mp3, amr, mp3, mp4, aiff, aac, wma, or ogg formats. The file can be uploaded to their server and they will also extract the time, date and GPS location (if this information is in the header).
I hope some genius soon creates a cell phone app that actually kills mosquitoes. Maybe a cell phone app can get a sample of a mosquito's wing beat frequencies and the immediately blast it with a resonate (or off beat) frequency(s) that can damage it's wings. If a mosquito can't fly, it can't bother us anymore. Please share here some ways you use that works for you to kill or repel mosquitoes.

I hope someday an app is created that repels them with sound frequency
I just checked out google play and there are mostly prank apps, but some apps do claim to really kill or repel mosquitoes. In the reviews for Mosquito KillerX some are saying that it really works for them and some are saying it doesn't work. Maybe it works on some species and not others. Anyone tried it?
I would think more people would know about it if it weren't just a prank or a novelty... I'd also think if it actually worked (lots of superstitious people out there) that we'd see something on the news about it at the least.... or more advertisements..
