Thanks for an excellent post on these fascinating creatures. The best book I read about the octopus is titled "The Soul of An Octopus" by Sy Montgomery. I couldn't work out why all the octopuses I saw at the fish market in Korea were all lifeless and just moping around in shallow glass containers instead of the intelligent creatures that I know them to be :(
