Just Sharing A Cool Science Resource
If you're like me and you like to read the source studies referenced in popsci articles, or you're a student doing research, you probably have bumped up against more paywalls that you couldn't afford than the average bear. Google Scholar is great, but less so if you can't read the articles! That's why I was excited to learn about this new browser extension, unpaywall:
It's totally legal and searches for open source versions of the same article you're reading. I can't claim to have tried it yet, because browser extensions aren't really a thing on Kindles, but I'm getting a laptop for my birthday (!!! I haven't had a laptop in years, I'm so excited), so I'll be checking it out then!

It was totally a surprise! I posted on Facebook that my 15 year old iMac just died (he was working a few months ago). He hasn't spoken to the internet in years, but I still did everything else on him, including putting my writing into Word and editing it for publication (I write first drafts on a typewriter). A FB friend sent me a link to a laptop on Amazon and said she had just bought it for me, expected arrival on my birthday! 😮😃
