This galaxy is 30 million light-years away from the planet NGC 6744. The galaxy's other name, Caldwell 101, is located in the Pavo Stars. Among the visible galaxies, the spiral arms of the NGC 6744 are very much like our Milky Way. The surrounding galaxy's name is NGC 6744A, which is another galaxy near the Milky Way that looks like a large magellanic cloud.
