Earth is the only planet not named after a god!!!😳😳😳

Hello Steemians, welcome to another beautiful day, I hope this post will be as good as today. Well... what do you know about our planets? I did a little research and found out that earth is the only planet not named after a god. Other planets were named after Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.

As we all know, we have nine planets. Earth simply means the ground and it is an English/German name. It is the third closest planet to the sun and the only planet that has life.

Let's start with Mecury... Mecury is the closest planet to the sun. The Greeks had two names for Mecury, when it appears in the morning, it is called "APOLLO" and when it appears in the evening it us called "HERMES". It was named after the Roman god of TRAVEL. 🚛🚛

Venus is the second closest planet to the sun and because it this it is often the first star to appear in the evening and the last to disappear into he morning which was the reason why it was called the morning and evening star. It was named after the Roman goddess of LOVE AND BEAUTY.

Mars is the fourth closest planet to the sun. It is very dusty and prone to dust storms. It was named after the Roman god of WAR.

Jupiter is the fifth closest planet to the sun and it is the largest planet in the solar system. It was the KING of all Roman gods🗿

Saturn is the sixth closest planet to the sun and the second largest planet in the solar system. It is best know for it's ring system. It was named after the Roman god of AGRICULTURE.

Uranus is the third largest and fourth heaviest of the planets. It was named after an ancient Greek king of the gods.

Neptune has a size that is similar to that of Uranus and has a mass of over 17 times that of earth. It is invisible to the naked eye. It was named after the Roman god of the SEA.

Pluto is the largest planet in the far outer solar system. It was named after the Roman god of the UNDERWORLD.
