In the latest issue of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, a group of European scientists discussed the discovery of exoplanets or planets outside the Solar System which were thought to contain large amounts of rubies and sapphires.

The discovery of a precious stone on an exoplanet named HD219134 b raises questions about the origin of planet formation and the chemical elements contained therein.

And also According to one of the astronomers and research authors, Amy Bonsor, initially he and his colleagues only wanted to study the composition of exoplanet rocks.

The study also showed that the rocks on the surface of the exoplanet turned out to contain calcium and aluminum. However, a team of scientists from the University of Cambridge was shocked after they discovered planet HD219134 b.

And need to know HD219134 b is a planet outside the Solar System or an exoplanet that is 21 light years away, in the constellation Cassiopeia. The planet orbiting its star in just three days has a rocky surface but is almost similar to the conditions on Earth.

HD219134 b is about 10 to 20 percent denser than other Earth-like exoplanets. But it has a higher concentration of calcium and aluminum.

So as is known, the high concentration of calcium and aluminum is one of the important elements in the formation of precious stones.

And Has High Temperature Conditions
Planet HD219134 b has high temperature conditions that facilitate the formation of precious stones. This makes the researchers believe that HD219134 b is rich in rubies and sapphires.

So As a result of the new findings, a team of European scientists hypothesized that a new class of rocky exoplanets exist made of large amounts of calcium and aluminum.

According to them too, there are two other examples of exoplanets that have characteristics similar to HD219134 b, namely 55 Cancri e and WASP-47 e.

"Exoplanets are truly diverse and very different from our own Earth. Elements forming rocky exoplanets - especially super-Earth-class ones - are actually much wider than previously thought," said Bonsor.
