Opting Out of the Ancestor Simulation?! The Future Simulated You... An Opportunity To Opt Out of your own digital reconstruction and simulation...

in #science7 years ago (edited)

Comment this post if you want to opt-out, or let them now if you do want to be simulated. They are likely to see it someday... I think...

This is no joke, I would highly suggest you leave a comment here and opt-out if you don't want to be simulated some day... They will probably try! You don't have to read my babel below if you don't want to, but if you don't want to be simulated some day or if they are simulating us right now and you don't like it, then you better opt out by leaving a comment below for the block chain to record for all of history! I guarantee that someday somebody is gonna find my stuff and be like, WTF???.... :) lol

Steemit runs on a block chain and of all the ways that you could opt-out of something that hasn't happened yet and has no time table for actually being implemented is to leave a comment right here on the block chain! The block chain will never go away and will always be the same! So if you leave a comment now, odds are that the future's ancestor simulation will spot that you opted out and then hopefully not simulate a conscious you... Obviously you could also volunteer to be first up on the list as well if you want to make sure you get simulated...A virtual Guinea Pig basically...

(this is from black mirror)

So, I have seen this idea played out in several shows like Black Mirror. The most recent being Doctor Who and the glass people. but the main theme of the idea goes like this. At some point mankind will develop the technology to produce ancestor simulations and using that same premise will create a real life afterlife on Earth using VR and AI. A system such as this would operate in 2 distinct modes. Discovery mode and known mode.

Known mode would be a baseline simulation made of known facts and with actual recorded genetic material being fed into these universe simulations.

Discovery mode would operate somewhat like the Animus in Assassin's Creed. Where it would simulate multiple pasts using the genetics and knowledge we have, and using that info it would iterate trillions upon trillions of simulations until it found the proper simulations that led to the genetic information and chain of events that we know took place in our real reality..

So based on this you can assume a system with these two modes could reasonably emulate/simulate everyone that we catalog after we start cataloging people. Basically people will start backing themselves up and such like in Battlestar Galactica with the AIs. Everyone that can't be directly simulated using existing knowledge will be discovered through the aforementioned process. Once discovered proper you could basically ensure that it was the correct DNA and timeline and person...Even though it isn't. It would be a philosophical argument at that point if it was done with enough science and accuracy. No time travel is ever required.

If you are having trouble with this. Look at it this way. If I know your DNA...Then I can recreate your grandpa's DNA without having his DNA. By iterating this almost endless sea of universe simulations until we find you DNA. The one that exactly matches your DNA. Once we find the pathway that makes your DNA, we can work backwards from there and simulate all the building blocks of you from the past generation. So we would have to simulate countless past generations until we found ones that made your DNA. The odds of finding DNA that matched both your DNA and created the events needed to make our reality are basically infinite. If you found the DNA there would be almost no chance of it being a shadow world or clone world. No fakes would pop up. You are not going to accidentally extrapolate a fake grandpa using your DNA and then have all that data line up with everyone else you are discovering.

Yes this would be crazy insane and hard to do and take some very futuristic tech, but we are assuming it is the future and they really do have this tech.

So now we are left with a moral dilemma. What if certain people don't want to be resurrected or rediscovered. You can't just ask them after they have been simulated??? Can you?

Unless you asked them in an altered version of the original discovery simulations...

So there are two situations we have to decide here.

We are either in an ancestor simulation right now and you need to let them know RIGHT NOW if you want to be retrieved/resurrected/discovered or if you want to be left alone and not brought into the live system.

Scenario 2 is that we are not in an ancestor simulation and this is base reality but someday they will invent this and you will inevitably be simulated without asking to be simulated. So you need to opt out now before this gets built and started so that the future knows not to emulate you as a real consciousness and only as a non real NPC...

You may laugh now, but what if!? What if this is happening now or will happen?! Basically if you think this is a joke, then you think mankind and technology won't advance much further than it is at. Assuming we don't get wiped out anytime soon, if we ever leave this planet and colonize the stars, then this ancestor simulation stuff is almost a certainty in that future. Which mean, you will most likely be simulated some day, especially if you have any type of online presence, especially social media so that AI can more easily reconstruct you. It will clearly be much, much harder to discover people from before the internet, but still possible using DNA and simulations as I stated...

Personally, I am torn on the topic. If heaven/hell is real then you would or could possibly be blocking your soul from the afterlife eternally, or at least until the universe unravels and time ends...Which you could argue doesn't matter, since, as long as that happens eventually then you would rejoin this afterlife and if the real afterlife is outside of time then it literally wouldn't matter how long you stayed here. But it would give you more time to be corrupted as a soul and go to hell too. Also, there is the side of the coin that this is what the afterlife was always meant to be or actually is. But that really messes with our notions and beliefs in what God is and does and says...unless some stuff is misinterpretation on our ancestor's part....Also, is the reconstructed you, really you? Could you be copied so there are two of you like in some of the Black Mirror episodes... Basically my fear is being simulated too soon.. When the system is not quite ready. I don't want to get stuck in a digital nightmare...

This is why I suggest opting out...or at least to opt out until the tech has been proven and perfected,

Personally, I choose to opt out until they can verify a soul entanglement. Some sort of quantum entanglement to my actual and real current soul, wherever and whatever it is... So if they can't entangle my soul into my virtual me AI, then I don't want to be simulated. But if I can actually be simulated in a proper way and then actually linked into my soul with verification that it is really me with safeguards to prevent corruption and/or digital entrapment, then yes! Sign me up, at least for a while. No more than a billion years in real-time worth of simulations in total iterations though please, but definitely check with me on what I want to do when the billion is up haha... I think that would be more than enough time and then some :) and I don't want to get stuck being simulated forever as I said as I do believe there is an afterlife... Basically there would have to be a tech support system like in Vanilla Sky and also a way to ensure a consciousness can't be copied/cloned and then dual ran... I don't want to get stolen and trapped in a virtual hell by someone that dislikes me...

Here's a breakdown of the newer Black Mirror episode that touches on this idea. They are simulating people dating in an infinite amount of simulation (almost) and the end shows that this couple fought the system to be with each other in like 99.8% of sims so they were a perfect match. So in this episode the ancestor simulation was a dating apps algorithm for matching people in the real world! icky scary lol...

Sort:

Could you imagine if we really are in an ancestor sim right now? This post would single handedly explain the movie "They Live" as the "non-humans" would be NPC people who opted out and are now AI NPCs playing the part of the person that opted out.... /gulp

And if it's aliens running the simulation then they likely won't care that you opted out... so... :(

It appears " they've found one that can see" ... Your sunglasses need to be distributed as wide as possible

I love it :) haha

Based on the variables you gave, I choose to opt-out until the tech is proven. Then, I'd like to be given the choice to participate or not. I will not accept being forced into anything without my consent, and right now, no consent. Keep me posted once the tech is tested & trusted!

I will opt out for the fun of it. There is a much larger and much more sinister plan that is being hidden from the masses.
