Have you ever wondered why the airplanes have their fuel tanks in their wings? Well there are really good causes.
You know the only( i mean the most) thing that lifts the airplanes is the wing. Because of that we have to put the CG(center of gravity) of the airplane in the area of the wing.Because of that:
#1 Center of Gravity
We know that the fuel tank mass is going to change by the amount of the fuel in it so if we put it in the back or front the CG of the airplane will move by the time that the fuel is being consumed by the engines.
#2 There is no room for it in the body
The body of an airplane is full of cargo, passengers, baggage... (which are called the payload) so there is not a lot of room for the fuel to be stored. The another reason (which is more likely to be in the same category as this) is that the wings of an airplane have some kind of blade structure(called ribs) in it (as the picture) , so this will make the fuel travel slowly to the other side of the wing which will cause much more stable flight.
#3 The weight of the fuel (the most important)
As i mentioned earlier the wings are the only thing which makes an airplane go up. Now imagine that the fuel is in the body. What will happen is that the wing will bend ( just as you sit on a non-supported bench). This is bad for the wings. So we put the fuel in the wings which will help reducing the mass from the center and put that mass to the part of the wing which is empty (which because of the physics is having its lift force by an angle so the wing is bending). Just as putting the bag in your legs when sitting on a bench or putting the bag on the side of the bench.

Biliyorsunuz ki uçakların tek uçma nedeni kanatlarıdır. Bunun için ağırlık merkezini kanadın içine yerleştiriyoruz.
#1 Ağırlık merkezi
yakıt deposunun ağırlığı değişkendir. Bunun için eğer depoyu en arkada veya en önde koyarsak uçma sırasında ağırlık merkezin yeri değişecek.
#2 Uçakta yer yok!
Uçağın kendisi normalde kargo, yolcu, bagaj ve... (payload) taşıyor. Bundan dolayı yakıt deposuna yer kalmıyor. Başka bir neden de kanatların yapımından dolayıdır, kanatlarda "Ribs" diye adlandıran yapılar var (şekildeki gibi). Bu yapılar yakıtın hızlıca kanadın içinde gidip gelmesini önlendiriyor.
#3 Yakıtın ağırlığı (en önemli neden)
Uzun bir sandalyeyi düşünün. Ortasında çantanız ile beraber oturuyorsunuz. Sandalye büküyor. Aynı şeyi uçaklarda duşunun. eğer yakıt deposu ortada olursa kanatlar bükecek. Bundan dolayı depoları kanadın içine koymak zorundayız.
