Good evening fellow Steemians. Tonight's post is one of great importance to the Earth and the scientific community in general. Back in August of last year, Brown University scientisits discovered large pockets of sub-surface water.

Two lunar missions have found that this is not contained in a specific region of the Moon, new research has revealed that all the Moon could be covered in water. How is this possible you ask, check out the link below!

The results contradict some earlier studies, which had suggested that more water was detected at the Moon’s polar latitudes and that the strength of the water signal waxes and wanes according to the lunar day (29.5 Earth days). Taking these together, some researchers proposed that water molecules can “hop” across the lunar surface until they enter cold traps in the dark reaches of craters near the north and south poles. In planetary science, a cold trap is a region that’s so cold, the water vapor and other volatiles which come into contact with the surface will remain stable for an extended period of time, perhaps up to several billion years.

Regardless this could be the game changer if humans can extract OH and make it into H2O. This would alow for astronaut/engineers to set up a base and use it for other space faring missions. The Resource Prospector Mission is intended to pave the way toward incorporating use of space resources into mission architectures.

This to me is mind-blowing and shows the ingenuity and intelligence of humankind to achieve and succeed in the area of space exploration. I hope to be able to see these accomplishments in my lifetime. To think that at one time we thought the Moon was made of cheese.

This gives me hope that someday humans could inhabit the moon with some advanced tech.
