What are the functions of Hemoglobin or haemoglobin?
The main function of hemoglobin is to carry oxygen from the lungs to several organs or tissues in our body. It contains iron and is found in the red blood cells of all vertebrates. Some invertebrates also contain hemoglobin. Oxygen supports aerobic respiration to generate energy for organs so that they could function properly. Every 100 ml of blood contains 12 to 16 grams of hemoglobin in a healthy person.

Yeah, hemoglobin carries oxygen. Fun fact, hemoglobin has a stronger affinity to coordinate its Iron with carbon monoxide, that's why it's so toxic because the stronger coordination bond is hardly reversible and takes a long time to get rid of the molecule once it's attached into hemoglobin and when enough molecules are carrying CO instead of oxygen our cells start to die due to lack of oxygen.
