It's always been strabge to me that chemiluminescence produces light but no significant heat.

Actually, the chemistry behind chemiluminescence should produce energy, while energy could be in different form , including light and heat. (like Energytotal = Heat + Light) .
But usually, the light energy emission is not that efficient, so you will still got some heat generated, but is is just so negligible that we consider chemiluminescence as the "cold light"
