Actually i didnt realize the funny part about the "periodic" until today, when I was searching google for the molecular weigh of periodic acid. Then i was like: huh, did I misspell "periodic"? ........ really lots of fun with them XDD
btw, we bought those sigma chemicals from the regular website so I guess they are shipped from the US (and they arrived suprizingly quick most of the time via Fedex lol)
and for us, we are highly regulated to use KMnO4 instead.
but seems that iodic acid would be a better oxidant than permanganate actually XD
(I think chlorine bleach would be a cheap option haha)

That's funny, because we go through permanganate by the bucket and never had to deal with regulation.
