Using antibiotics reasonably is a real problem today and we are actually paying a very hard price for past errors. If I am not wrong, we now need to find new antibiotics to replace older ones that are now inefficient ... :(

Resistance is really a serious issue now. New antibiotics development take lots of investment; and I was told that a number of big pharm company are not willing to invest further on new antibiotics development, as the investment is too risky. Instead, they are more eager to develop drugs like anti-cancer agents, as the target would be long term patient, and the company can get more benefit from it.

There is one word for that: profit... :(
