RE: Are our cats dangerous? unveiling the myths behind toxoplasmosis

in #science7 years ago

As someone who owns 5 cats I didn't know any of that! I remember when I was pregnant being told by numerous doctors I wasn't allowed to change their litter box out of fear it could get me sick. Worked great for me because my husband took the job over. I was thrilled. Cats really do get a bad reputation from myths. I was told by my mom to keep the cats away from the baby because they will steal her breath. It's a silly myth.

Lol, ancient silly stories. I grew up with cats and I have been lived with them for more than 15 years. My mother was told she was going to get urinary infection and stuff like that, myths and more myths.
Our cats never affected our health and a a friend of my mother who has never had cats got toxoplasmosis.

I guess that pets are especially made for humans survival, so they can't be very harmful otherwise we wouldn't have survived all those years!
