Electronic Medicine and Virtual Reality

Transcranial Direct Stimulation (tCDS) This is where currents are sent to the head through the skull to change brainwaves

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) This is where magnets are used to change brainwaves

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcranial_magnetic_stimulation

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) This is where currents are sent through the skin to stimulate nerves

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcutaneous_electrical_nerve_stimulation

Electroencephalography (EEG) can also be used in order to perfect the art of stimulating specific parts of the brain by using tDCS/TMS/TENS and then using EEG to pin point what is happening and repeat that in other people.

Hospitals have been able to use tDCS in combination with Virtual Reality to get people's non-responsive limbs working again, they make a program where the person can see arms and legs moving, then they stimulate the parts of the brain that attach to those limbs, and eventually they regain mobility. They just have to wear a weird little hat that looks like a Mickey Mouse hat.

And on a Podcast I was listening to I heard them talking about a Woman that put one on her head and one on her arm, and before putting it on she did a shooting test and missed a bunch, but once it was on she was much more accurate and said that time passed differently for her.

So this implies that using tDCS/TMS/TENS people will be able to train for different things in Virtual Reality, things like Sports, Combat, Reflexes, Speed, etc. and they will probably be able to make learning feel like doing Cocaine so that it becomes addictive.
