Thank you very much for this post I learned alot! I think it is interesting the the first step of the degradation of chlorophyll involves the loss of the central magnesium atom. I've always know this magnisium to be the super charged part of the chlorophyll molecule that initiates the release of electrons into the electron transport chain

I also didn't know this about bananas. I have a black light flashlight and I'm going to have to try that out for myself. Maybe string up a bunch of bananas and make myself a rave knecklace haha.
