Tesla Nonsense

When you pick up studying Nikola Tesla’s legacy you will find tons of misinformation. If you are not very careful you are bound to run into countless traps.

On our wall of shame the prominent place will go to Arthur Mathews. He even went as far as publishing a book claiming that Tesla came from Venus, built numerous anti-gravity vehicles, typewriters that type what you say, flat-screen TV’s, a second Wardenclyffe tower in Canada etc. etc. The list goes on and on, and would be hilarious if it wasn’t for the fact that some people actually believe it. Nothing was sacred for Arthur, he even edited Tesla’s autobiography to include the most horrendous new-age style crap. And if all of this wasn’t even enough, he even claimed to be the son of Tesla. Reading what this man wrote will give you the most distorted view on reality, one that could be compared to a life on LSD. One of Arthur’s most quoted disinfo is this one:

The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power. My Mother had taught me to seek all truth in the Bible.

A good second to Arthur is Gerry Vassilatos. He writes about Tesla as if he stood right behind him all the time and could read his thoughts. When asked where he gets his information from his reply sounds like a Dungeons and Dragons RPG; Gerry goes to secret rooms in ancient libraries where no-one ever goes. There he reads dusty old books that, you guessed it, no-one ever reads. Gerry wrote a book called “Lost Sciences and Secrets of Cold War Technology” and ‘explains’ the technical secrets in his “Vril Compendium”. Among other things Gerry tells us that Tesla was flying around in his anti-gravity vehicle while in Colorado Springs. Gerry heads the category of people that doesn’t understand science at all, dreams up an alternate science to cover that up, and uses Tesla’s name to promote his own misunderstandings.

Although it is not proven with certainty, it is believed that Gerry invented the no-fuel Pierce Arrow story. This is a story that is believed by many and the most original source of this that I could find states that this was reported on in many local (Buffalo) newspapers. I have searched through literally millions of newspaper in electronic archives and found zero results. The Pierce Arrow story is, in my opinion, proven to be not true.

After these two masters of disinformation follows a swarm of smaller wanna-bees. One of the most easily dismissed stories is the John Smith interview that supposedly took place while Tesla was in Colorado Springs (1899-1900). This interview is so full of historically incorrect statements that it should take no one more than a google search to dismiss it as fantasy. For example, this interview discusses black-holes, yet the term "black hole" was coined in 1967 by American astronomer John Wheeler, 24 years after Tesla died.

Some die-hards:

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.

Ralph Bergstresser, inventor of the “Tesla Purple Plate”, lets us know that Tesla told him this in a private conversation that supposedly took place in 1942. There is no official/verifiable record of this and given all that we do know it is extremely unlikely that this conversation ever took place and even more unlikely that Tesla actually said this. Given the fact that Ralph named his own invention after Tesla, makes it all even more suspicious. He most likely falls into the Gerry category.

If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have the key to the universe.

No source for this quote can be found, but this too is extremely unlikely to have come from Tesla. It is the most obvious BS and makes no sense whatsoever, yet attach Tesla’s name to it and there are people diving into it… Sad but true.
