Since this is meant to be educational, I would like to point out that the Raspberry Pi is not a CPU. It contains a CPU, but would otherwise be called a single-board computer, or perhaps a development board.

Also, the kit pictured (https://kano.me/store/us/products/computer-kit-complete) is 250 USD, not "a little over $100". This starts to nudge it in to the bad value range, honestly. At least for the pure hardware - I can't speak for the work they've put in to the software.

My error, you are correct the Raspberry Pi is not a CPU. Regarding the price, the 2016 edition is priced at about $150.
