Have you ever helped your mother to heat water? What do you do to heat the water? First, you will fill the pan with water. After that, put the pan on the stove. Then light the stove on medium heat. Why does it need a stove to heat water? What energy does the burning stove contain? Is there a difference in water temperature? To answer all these questions, we will do the following experiment!


What is needed?

1.  Water
2.  Thermometer
3.  Pan
4.  Stove

What is needed?

1.  Put water into the pan.
2.  Measure the water temperature with the thermometer. Write it on the table.
3.  Place the pan on the stove and light the fire.
4.  Heat the water in a pan until it boils.
5.  After boiling, turn off the stove.
6.  Measure the temperature of boiling water with a thermometer

What happened?

When the pan is heated, the heat will move to the pan so that the water in the pan will slowly boil and the water temperature will continue to rise until certain circumstances. The above experiments show that the heat can change the temperature of an object. The more heat given to an object, the greater the temperature rise of the object. Thus, the temperature rise of an object is proportional to the given heat.
