We can only make statements regarding what we know, not what we do not know.

We do know that a certain amount of matter/energy exists in our universe due to observation. Then when that matter drifts beyond the light speed limit due to expansion we know that matter/energy can no longer be observed, or accessed on our universe. Therefore it has ceased to exist as a provable thing, has it not?
