RE: The Magic of Echolocation

in #science6 years ago

the speed of sound in water is 1531 m/s. This value is more than five times the speed of sound in air at 300 m/s.

I’d like to know the physics behind this. Echolocation. Learned something today for real.
A very interesting read man

That was an interesting question, the molecules in water are more tightly jammed together which makes for an easier transfer of energy as the sound travels. Thank you.

Oh makes a lot of sense then. But how do you explain people who scream under water while drowning but are still not heard easily ?

You know its hard to scream when your lungs are filled or getting filled with water.
