Asimov, Clarke and Herbert are all timeless. I have found a new author that is on par with Herbert, in my opinion. A Chinese author by the name of Cixin Liu and his Hugo Award Winning trilogy The Three Body Problem. I highly recommend it
Cool I will take a look. Honestly I haven't done a lot of science fiction reading. I listened to some of The Martian audiobook on youtube recently. That was cool.
Well written sci-fi can be very thought provoking. I would highly recommend picking up some of the classics.
