New Horizons: Charon

Hello friends, this time I want to share this video. The New Horizons spacecraft flew over Charonte, the images it took were used to digitally reconstruct much of its surface and make videos like this one, which have the reliefs and colors highlighted digitally.

This fictional journey of a minute begins in a wide abyss that divides different types of landscapes of Charon, an abyss that could have formed when this satellite froze. Then it turns north and flies over a colorful depression called Mordor which, according to one hypothesis, is a remnant of an ancient impact. The journey continues on a strange landscape rich in craters, mountains and cracks never before seen (at least by human eyes). Now, the New Horizons is dedicated to the object 2014 MU 69, cataloged as a "classic object of the Kuiper belt", which has a diameter of approximately 45 kilometers.
