I only mentioned Mars as one aspect. I believe we should populate asteroids (hollow them out), moons, and whereever we can manage to survive. Mars might be achievable and people can speculate all they want, it will greatly depend upon what is done. My point though was I think we should avoid trying to move people first. Moving people adds a lot of requirements and space needs to any vessal. Thus, build and do what we need with robots and drones. Then have infrastructure in place ready to receive humans.
