An egg a day could keep the doctor away

in #science6 years ago

Between 2004 and 2008, Chinese researchers recruited more than half a million adults to participate in a study investigating how egg consumption affects people’s health. They found that those who ate an egg each day on average had a lower risk of suffering from strokes or cardiovascular diseases when compared to the participants who never or rarely ate eggs. These results contradict those of some previous investigations, which had proposed links between eating eggs and cardiovascular disease or stroke because of their cholesterol content. However, most previous studies had much smaller sample sizes, which can make it difficult to draw reliable conclusions.

It's surprising how the opinion of eggs has gone back and forth over the years. I guess that shows that our understanding of the world is always growing. It'a also suprising that so much of our understanding still comes from observation. We're always learning.
