Hello steemian, today I will share about some creativity and mindset when we get some matter in finalizing a task,

Every student has been burdened with a tasks when they wanna complete their final stages of learning, So they have to do some research or semester reports. In the chemical engineering major, many choices of tasks they can choose, whether it is an analysis that has to go through filtration, distillation, evaporation, etc. So, Something what I want to explain here is how you can accomplish a task with a creative idea.

Knowledge of The Process

From most of processes in chemistry they have to choose one, as example evaporation proses. Before we continue lets to know first what is evaporation mean,

 "evaporation is a process of molecular changes from liquid state into a gases spontaneously"

It mean, evaporation is a process and evaporator is an equipment used for evaporation process, evaporator can be interpreted as a heat absorber tool of a fluid, in the evaporation process there is also a condenser, it is a tool to cool the vapor into liquid phase, So reader easy to understand then I give an example, a fluid heated in a flask, then the fluid will evaporate to form a gas, the evaporated gas will rise upward through the condenser, the gas in the condenser cooled and be as condensate (liquid). the utilization of evaporator aims to obtain the viscosity of a non-volatile substance such as analysis of glucose on  skin of sweet potatoes. In the evaporation process, the solvent boiling point must be lower than the concentrated agent.

The condensation process also involved in evaporation process, where the condenser serves as a medium for condensing steam heat from evaporation. The working principle of condenser by passing steam to the column surrounded by cooling water, the steam collides with cold media, the contamination both steam and cooler media that has hot temperature will be tangent to cooling water, it serve to absorb steam of vapor. So that the temperature of steam will drop and become as condensate. This condenser is Vertical type, where cooling water entry from bottom, then go in to the channel and exits through the top, while the vapor entry from the top of condenser and exits as  condensate in the bottom.

What Can You Do ?

After you have been understood of working principle of condenser and evaporator, your initiative and creativity will come out when some equipment you wanna use has been damaged, So, you can design a simple evaporator, look at the beside picture, a pan, 3 neck flask, spiral condenser and electric heater. How you design it ? Lets to the point.

We have to replace Heating Bath with a Pot, and Evaporating Flask with a 3 Neck Flask. So that the pumpkin's back does not stick to the bottom of the pan then we have to use the wire to hold the pumpkin, The heating of water in the pot to evaporate the solution (fluid) inside the flask, it will reduce the water in the pan (water media), this water used as for heating media, Therefore, to prevent water (heating media) evaporate from the pan, we can add the oil, because the boiling point of oil is higher, So ,it wont decrease the water in the pan at temperature 100oC, The addition of oil in the pan to prevent water evaporate, because the addition of water into media heating continue will affect the heating media temperature so that process of evaporation will be slow. In all problems, when we understood a working principle of some equipment then we can think, how to use a creativity when your initiative should you use when some tools have been damaged, therefore the deep understand and knowledge are needed. for example like experience above.
