Shor's algorithm in quantum computing is widely known as the greatest threat to cryptographic security; hence, cryptocurrencies.
But cryptography that is based on even the most primitive QCL - Quantum Computer Language (primarily predicting % end states for superpositions via Hadamard gate simulations) already has shown many paths towards safeguarding against quantum attacks.
Additionally, there are a few quantum resistant cryptocurrencies available today.
For example, IOTA uses the quantum resistant MCMC (Markov Chain Monte Carlo) algorithm for their Tangle (Iota's consensus mechanism - not a blockchain, no fees and no mining).
Unlike the masses, I am anxiously awaiting quantum computing.
Why?
The problems that quantum computing can solve could lead to the end of disease, hunger, drought victims, and most of all, make war an unprofitable venture.
Maybe I'll always be the perennial optimist?
