Intresting review! I like the objectivity despite the fact that I, too, am quite skeptical about 'baseless' alternative medicine.
I guess (for now) it all keeps circling back to the placebo effect. It's a little frustrating due to its wide area of influence, and yet a pretty interesting phenomenon too!

Problem is, most people are not even aware of how big its influence can be or have never heard of things like placebo-by-proxy - this makes it hard to argue.
Well ignorance-In its kindest definition-is usually a problem, but I guess it is part of the whole thing. There's always going to be a mass of 'ignorants' regarding a particular subject, right?
