Giant Red leech Found Back

in #science9 years ago (edited)

HELLO FRIENDS OF ALL STEEMIANS.
Hopefully always in good condition, it's nice we meet again in this post. For me to learn in the wild is something that will learn more about it. Because there is always something new that we will find in every scientific journey in the wild. In the expedition activity of Mount Burni Geureudong conducted by the team of UMPAL Malikussaleh University on 02 March 2017 With the aim of mapping the biodiversity of Mount Burni Geureudong ecosystem. We find something to add to the development of science especially the field of biology. We found a Red Giant Leeches.

Initially I was with the team thought this was just a earthworm and I tried to photograph it. But when the animal shortened its body we just realized that this is a kind of leech. The size of these leeches is very different from the leech usually. This leech has a length of 20 cm with a width of 2.5 cm The location of the discovery is in the path of climbing at coordinates 0258311 E, 0533295 N ZONE 47 with Datum Wgs 1984 at an altitude of 2600 meters above sea level. At the time of finding the red leeches the situation has just finished raining. These leeches have different mouths from the worms making it easy for us to tell the difference.

This red leech was first discovered by Blanchard in 1897 in the mountains of kinabalu Malaysia. In population and habitat surveys of flora in the area of Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) at the end of 2012, the survey team found the leech's large hall in the area of Gunung Leuser. Something amazing can see and discover directly one of these natural riches. So with the present invention can add insight and knowledge in the science of nature, especially the branch of biology. need further identification by experts and more intensive literature search for a more convincing scientific results. If true this type of leech is a rare species that only exist in Kinabalu, Gunung Leuser National Park and Forest Protection Mount Geureudong Bener Meriah.

Conclusion

The giant red leech (Mimobdella buettikoferi) is one of the rare leeches we know from the existing literature study. These leeches exist only in three places in the world namely Mount Kinabalu, Gunung Leuser, and Mount Geureudong. An accomplishment find one of the mysteries of this natural wealth.
